Big woofs and wags, I’m Emily, owner of The Happy Jack Co. The Happy Jack Co is a small Australian family-run business, consisting of myself, my husband, our two daughters (5 years & 3 years) and our fur-baby Rusty. Rusty is a 1-year-old Kelpie, and our unofficial Quality Control Officer. When he isn’t rounding up our chooks, or chasing his toys, you’ll usually find Rusty dozing on our verandah.
Here is something you may not know about me: I grew up on a farm and learned to appreciate the simple things in life from an early age. We grew veggies, raised animals and helped our neighbours whenever we could. It really shaped who I am, and through early adulthood when I studied and worked in the city I yearned to be able to get back to my roots. I now live rurally again, with my family and my soul is much happier.⠀
Before becoming a mother, I worked as a clinical psychologist. I loved helping people who truly needed it, but also struggled with the imbalance between face to face time with my clients and the MOUNTAINS of paperwork required. It is something I would consider going back to on a part time basis once my girls are grown, but for the moment we are enjoying a simpler life on the farm. ⠀

Initially, the vision was to create a vast online store catering to all pet needs. After some research, I became aware that, just like us, many dogs suffer from skin allergies and irritations and their owners are often looking for natural solutions to ease the dreaded itch and the constant paw licking. Likewise, I discovered many of the short nosed breeds such as French Bulldogs and Pugs suffer from very dry, cracked and crusty noses. It was then that I embarked on finding natural solutions to alleviate the symptoms, without the use of harsh or potentially toxic, chemicals.

At our core, we have a deep desire to create products that alleviate the suffering of dogs from common issues like skin irritations, dry, cracked painful noses and paws, and easily prevented dental problems. We believe in the power of nature and use only natural ingredients in our formulations.
